Today’s buzzword is ‘agitation’, which rhymes with ‘refrigeration’, and that’s ironic because I’ve done everything but play it cool today. I’m not an angry person, I think I’ve reached mild fury once in my life. That was because I lent my friend a 64MB Playstation 2 memory card with my SSX Tricky saved game on it and he returned it completely wiped. I do believe under Section 5a of the Gaming Etiquette Statute I am therefore entirely justified in serving any punishment I see fit. In this specific case, I just acted normal to his face, but deep beneath the surface I was doing unspeakable things. Take that mean friend.
Back then there was a clear catalyst. Wiping someones PS2 memory card is enough to send anyone into a blind rage. Today though, there’s no Playstation in sight. I suppose, me and my girlfriend have been bickering all day about nothing in particular, but then again; is that a cause or the effect? I suspect it is the effect. The effect of what though?
I’d never want to draw comparisons with the start of the Universe, but they are strangely similar. I mean, look we have the effect and there’s no cause to be seen anywhere. So they’re basically the same. OK the universe has a cause; we have the Big Bang, but who caused that? Maybe the wiping of memory cards has been going longer than we thought…
I have half the energy of the Big Bang* but I’m about twice as aimless. My energy is being flung around all over the place without a care in the world (universe?). It’s just red-hot particles bouncing around ignorant of everything. Rebels without a cause. I do hope everything calms down to the point where life and civilizations can flourish once more. Although when that point is reached, I hope it is a one where ones memory cards are finally respected. F**k you Jack.
*I can’t corroborate those figures.
