#PersonifyME: Ashley Workman

I have compassion for this girl. Other times, I loathe her. She is my depression. I want to help her, but sometimes the weight she carries seems heavier than usual. Mostly, I just focus on the hope that someday that weight will all go away. I know Who has the key to unlock the shackles-to break free of the weight. His name is Jesus Christ. He is the Son of God. He chose to suffer, die, and live again for you and me. He knows how my depression feels. His love and compassion far outweigh her sorrow. He knows exactly how she feels.

This project is run in partnership with Things Dre Makes, and will run for the whole month of May – Mental Health Awareness Month. The idea is to personify a mental illness or difficult emotion you are facing.
